Our top picks from this month’s Kindle sale
April is here, and our reading list needs some new titles. We’ve been reading the latest Amazon Kindle deals and found six great books you need to read this month.
Happy Place by Emily Henry
You can always count on Emily Henry to write the perfect rom-com. Of all his books, Happy Place it has to be one of my favorites.
Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple – they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
Every year, they take the vacation of a lifetime to drink copious amounts of wine with their favorite people in the world.
Except this year, they’re lying through their teeth because Harriet and Wyn broke up six months ago. And they still haven’t told anyone.
But the cottage is being sold, so this is the last time they will all be here. They can’t bear to break the hearts of their best friends, so they will break it one more week.
But how can you pretend to be in love – and get away with it – in front of the people who know you best?
The Secret of Mercy by Marian Keyes
Private investigator Helen doesn’t believe in love, fear or hot drinks.
But when a missing persons case leads her into the dark, beautiful world of her ex-partner, Jay Parker, she is drawn away from Artie Devlin, her unlikable detective boyfriend.
This is not good news for Helen.
In Jay’s fame-hungry world it’s all smoke and mirrors, and Helen is no longer sure what she’s doing, or what she’s doing…
To save yourself from the brink, you’re going to have to start believing something – and fast.
But will it be fear? Or love?

The Testament of Margaret Atwood
The Republic of Gilead begins to rot from within. In this pivotal moment, two girls with very different experiences of government face off against the legendary, cruel Aunt Lydia. But how far will everyone achieve what they believe?
Now for more information: book group discussion notes and an interview with Margaret Atwood about the real-life events that inspired her Testament and The Handmaid’s Tale.

A Waste Land by Clare Leslie Hall
Beth was seventeen years old when she first met Gabriele. In that harsh, intense summer, he made him think and feel and see in a different way. He thought it was the beginning of his great love story. When Gabriel left to become the person his mother expected him to be, he was broken.
It was Frank who picked up the pieces, and together they built a house very different from the one he had imagined when he was with Gabriel. Looking at her husband and son, she remembered feeling certain that, after everything, this was the life she was meant to live.
But when Gabriel returns, all of Beth’s confidence about who she is and what she wants is shattered. Even after ten years, their relationship is instant. He knows it’s wrong, and he knows people can get hurt. But how can he resist a second chance at first love?

Hide and Seek by Andrea Marr
Close your eyes.
The game of hide and seek is over, but little Lily Murphy is still nowhere to be found. His parents try to stay hopeful, but they know this peaceful part of Dublin will never be the same.
Count to ten.
Years later, Joanna moves to a new house. It seems perfect in every way, until he finds out that Lily Murphy used to live here.
And when you open them, your child is gone.
Because Joanna thinks she knows what really happened to Lily – and when the truth comes out, it could be her downfall…

Postcards from the Stranger by Imogen Clark
When Cara comes across a collection of old postcards in the attic, their contents make her ask all the questions she thought she knew.
The story he weaves together is confusing and uninspiring, and seems shrouded in lies. But who can tell him the truth? With her father dying of Alzheimer’s and her brother reluctant to help, it seems Cara will never get the answers to her questions. However, one thing is clear: man knows more than he lets on.
Torn between loyalty to her family and fear of what she might find, Cara delves into the early years of her parents’ troubled marriage, hunting for long-lost relatives who can help unravel the mystery. But the picture that begins to appear is not at all what he expected — because when he discovers, lies have a tendency to spread.
