Marvel fans are hoping for the return of the Scarlet Witch in the MCU. Ever since his amazing sacrifice in 2022 Doctor Strange in many forms of madness. Me too Avengers: Doomsday, VisionQuestand Avengers: Secret Wars All in all, there’s a good chance that Marvel Studios will bring the character back.
Star Elizabeth Olsen has been asked repeatedly if we will see Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again. His responses since his apparent departure from the franchise in 2022 have ranged from fun working on non-Marvel projects to surprising thoughts on his time as a character. Lately, he’s been sounding hopeful about coming back at some point. Unfortunately, his latest comments cast doubt on whether it will happen anytime soon.
Elizabeth Olsen talks Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars return rumors (and it’s not what you expected)
This is Elizabeth Olsen Avengers: Doomsday? That’s all fans have been wanting to know since the five-hour reporter announced the full movie and his name was missing. But, honestly, since Wanda’s return from the “dead” would be so amazing, Marvel Studios couldn’t spoil that. Therefore, fans were hoping for a possible comeback in the upcoming movie. After all, the Steve Rogers trailer that came out almost a year after the character was revealed confirmed that not every name has been announced. Could it be the same for Wanda?
Olsen recently appeared at C2E2 this week, where he was asked about a possible return to the MCU. He didn’t have a hopeful, revealing answer:
“I have no idea VisionQuestbecause I saw Paul six months ago. I don’t know anything about any of it. No [Secret Wars] what happens next? I’m not kidding. Why did I think there were two Secret Wars? Are they not there?”
Naturally, fans aren’t happy with this response as it might suggest that Wanda won’t be returning to the MCU anytime soon. It also seems to suggest that he is not entering Avengers: Doomsdaywhich has already filmed and will start shooting soon. Of course that doesn’t mean he’s telling the truth (remember he all made us believe Wanda wasn’t coming back. Avengers: Endgame back in 2019 and he finally did), but it’s not the most encouraging response.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters this December, but VisionQuest will come out before then – and will certainly have more answers to the overall mystery of the Scarlet Witch. After all, it’s the third installment in the WandaVision Trilogy, which comes next WandaVision itself and the original spinoff Agatha Everything. Paul Bettany reprises his role as Vision, while Ruaridh Mollica will debut as Tommy Maximoff – one of Wanda and Vision’s sons. And, when her twin brother Billy (played by Joe Locke) awakens her inner spirit Agatha Everythingit is clear that the Maximoff family is slowly reconciling.
For many years after Wanda’s sacrifice Doctor Strange in many forms of madnesshis position in the MCU was dead. Although fans believed that he would return, everyone involved in the game assured us that we have seen the last player. Agatha changed things when Agatha Harkness herself questioned the character’s fate, teasing fans about the possibility of an inevitable return. With his sons and Vision looking like they’ll be reunited, it’s only fair that he’ll be back at some point. And it wouldn’t make sense to do that after the Multiverse Saga since this arc has been such a thing.

So, could he still appear Avengers: Doomsday. There is definitely hope. Rumors and reports have said that he will participate in the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga in some capacity. Some say he will be tricked by Robert Downey Jr.’s doctor. Doom to do his will, while others suggest that he will be one of the few beings strong enough to stop him.
The truth is that the more time passes, the more likely it is to occur Avengers: Doomsday it can be or Wanda. Although it has a large group of 30+ MCU stars, it is expected to be a short and focused film, allowing for its 2027 sequel. Avengers: Secret Wars becoming a larger-than-life character with cameos and cameos throughout the Marvel Multiverse. With that in mind, Wanda’s return could happen there instead. After all, his return was in between Avengers: Endgame‘s great minutes; there’s no reason to think it won’t happen again Avengers: Secret Wars.
We’ll have to wait and see how the MCU’s plans play out for the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, but it’s clear that fans want the return of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch to be among the big moments that go down in both. Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
