Summer 2026 Bizarre Dinosaur Movie Trailers – And Jurassic Park Not Included – SlashFilm

A surprising box office show is coming this summer that includes two very different dinosaur movies. The most unique of all? None of them have anything to do with the multi-billion dollar “Jurassic Park” https://www.slashfilm.com/”Jurassic World”. Instead, get ready for “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” vs. “The End of Oak Street.”

Paramount Pictures plans to release its dino-centric entry in the “Paw Patrol” franchise on August 14, 2026. That’s the date Warner Bros. who plans to produce “The End of Oak Street, which is an original, high-concept sci-fi thriller that also focuses on dinosaurs. So, again, we don’t get different high-end movies, we don’t get different high-end movies. which is part of the property of the most recognizable movie theaters out there.

Last year’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” introduced many new dinosaurs to the long-running franchise, and was a huge commercial success. In fact, the property has had an almost unlicensed approach to dinosaur movies for years. Not anymore, it seems.

“Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” sounds great and sees the Paw Patrol pups crash on an uncharted tropical island full of dinosaurs. It’s an easy sell for its target audience, which is young children and parents who will take them to the theater to watch their favorite pups interact with prehistoric creatures.

In comparison, “The End of Oak Street” looks like the movie “Cloverfield” with dinosaurs. Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell (“The Following”), the film explores what happens when a mysterious cosmic event moves an otherwise ordinary downtown area known as Oak Street into a mysterious place full of dinosaurs. Anne Hathaway (“The Devil Wears Prada”) and Ewan McGregor (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”) lead the cast.

As for which movie will come out on top? “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” definitely has an edge here. Both “Paw Patrol: The Movie” ($144 million worldwide) and “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” ($205 million worldwide) were box office hits. Paramount also tends to make these movies on the cheap, $30 million or less so far. So, with “Paw Patrol” already a popular franchise around the world, adding dinosaurs could push the property to a new financial level.

Let’s not forget that “Saw X” won the best game for the “Saw” franchise in more than ten years but still lost to “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” in 2023, and the films opened to $18 million and $23 million, respectively. Children’s movies are all the rage these days, and the stock is bigger than some people realize.

As for “The End of Oak Street,” original sci-fi movies can be hard to sell to audiences. Adam Driver’s “65” was intended to make dinosaurs afraid again in 2023, but it fell below commercial expectations, taking only $ 60 million worldwide on a budget of $ 45 million. David Robert Mitchell and Warner Bros. have their work, therefore, the good name of JJ Abrams is included. But if it works, this could be a sleeper, depending on how things shake out.

Either way, assuming both of these movies stick to their release date, this is an amazing game. Not quite Barbenhemier, but still impressive. Dinosaurs will rule the Earth in August, one way or another.
