After 18 years, the MCU really needs to know what’s going on with the war machine.

For a structure that already exists from the beginning of MCU itself, Marvel Studios really needs to come up with a solid plan War Machine’s the future. 18 years later, Col. James Rhodes in the MCU has become a big problem that needs to be solved, especially considering that War Machine still doesn’t have his movies or series.

As a major point of confusion for many MCU fans, it has always felt like Marvel Studios has never fully confirmed what War Machine’s story should be. Of course, he made many appearances as a supporting character. However, War Machine’s solo arc in the MCU has been controversial (and not just because Rhodey hasn’t donned his armor in years).

War Machine hasn’t been in the MCU since Avengers: Endgame

The last time Rhodey qualified as War Machine / Iron Patriot was in 2019 Avengers: Endgame. That’s a long way from one of the MCU’s first superheroes, who debuted way back in 2008. Iron Manwhere Terrence Howard first played Tony Stark’s best friend and friend before being replaced by Don Cheadle in 2010. Iron Man 2.

From the End of the game, Col. James Rhodes is still making an appearance in the MCU, first in 2021 The Winter Falcon Soldierand again in 2023 Secret Attack. However, both of these qualities neglected to produce any weapons.

As the MCU continues to add interesting new heroes and characters, it can be frustrating when it feels like members of the first generation are being left out. Despite being a huge part of the MCU’s foundations, War Machine has never been given his own show or MCU movie.

However Armed Wars aired back in 2020, it was renewed in 2022 from a series to a film. Since then, there has been very little word on the project, or confirmation that War Machine will exist Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.

Secret Invasion Ruined Rhodey’s MCU Arc (Big Time)

While the lack of an official plan seems like a good idea, it makes sense given the unique challenges presented during Rhodey’s last appearance in the MCU in 2023. Secret Attack.

One of the worst MCU shows of all time, an important part of Secret Attack The general controversy was the revelation that Rhodey had been replaced by a Skrull, and more importantly, when Rhodey was supposedly turned into a mutant alien in the MCU.

According to both testimonies inside Secret Attack itself and the comments made by the director of the MCU series, it has been widely stated that the real War Machine has not been active since after Captain America: Civil War and injuries that left Rhodey paralyzed from the waist down, requiring the use of high-tech prosthetics.

While the other victims of Gravik’s Skrull revolution were rescued wearing normal civilian clothes, Rhodey was the only one wearing a hospital gown. Similarly, specific definitions have been made Secret Attack The ending, suggesting that Rhodey was one of the oldest Skrull cell inmates.

Assuming that’s true… it’s very sad. If Rhodey has been out of a job since then Civil Warmeans that he is changed by the big conflict against Thanos in The Endless Waralong with Time Heist during the At the end of the game and the last World War.

More importantly, it means that the real Rhodey missed out on saying goodbye to his best friend, when Tony sacrificed himself using the Infinity Stones at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Naturally, that doesn’t sit well with many MCU fans, as it obviously undermines an important part of War Machine’s arc. Yes, yes I can perhaps still serves as a powerful and compelling center for Rhodey to Armed Wars…maybe.

Aside from the next Avengers movies, War Machine Needs More Weapon Wars

All things considered, it’s easy to argue that Armed Wars The mission now becomes the need to fix and redeem War Machine in the MCU.

After Secret Attackwe could see Rhodey willing to make up for lost time and want to ensure that Tony’s legacy is protected. However, that is assuming the concept is executed correctly.

It’s a limited consideration Secret Attack Admittedly, Marvel Studios may not want to talk about anything from the series at all, including the proposed idea that Rhodey was an alien impostor for years. In that case, Armed Wars is still needed, first to give War Machine the project he always deserves, but also to erase bad ideas/effects from one of the MCU’s worst shows.

Although it would make sense for War Machine to appear in it The last day or Secret Warsthose movies will be full of characters and stories. There may not be enough space to resolve his complex situation, assuming that’s what Marvel wants to do.

Besides, seeing Doctor Doom in Tony’s face would hurt Rhodey more than most, regardless of whether he was there for Iron Man’s sacrifice or not.

Finally, if Rhodey’s War Machine wasn’t there for Tony’s final moments, dealing with that requires more than a side story or a few songs backing the main band. In any future scenario of the MCU, Armed Wars it needs to happen.
