BTS’ ARRIANG starts with No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated April 4), marking the pop group’s seventh number one hit. The group opens with the equivalent of 641,000 albums sold – the biggest week for an album by a group since the chart began measuring in units in December 2014. Of that total, 532,000 were sold in pure albums (both physical and digital album purchases), giving BTS the biggest sales week for an album by a group in more than a decade.
ARRIANG follows BTS’ previous No. 1s Evidence (2022), BE (2020), SPIRIT MAP : 7 (2020), SPIRITUAL MAP : PERSONA (2019), Love ‘The Answer’ (2018) and Love yourself ‘Taar’ (2018).
Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200 chart, Luke Combs earns his seventh top 10 hit, as The Way I Am bow with No.2.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US based on the consumption metric as measured by equivalent albums, compiled by Luminate. Units include album sales, equivalent albums (TEA) and equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is equivalent to the sale of one album, or 10 songs sold from an album, or supported by 2,500 or 1,000 paid/subscribed on-demand ads and videos generated by songs from an album. BTS is looking for the biggest week for the album with features gained since Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Show debuted at No. 1 with 4.002 million historical units on the chart dated Oct. 18, 2025. BTS has the biggest week for any group album, in units, since the Billboard 200 began ranking albums in December 2014.
In pure album sales (buying both physical and digital download albums), BTS has the biggest sales week for any album since Showgirl debuted with 3.48 million copies sold. The last group to have a bigger sales week was One Direction, and the first week of Midnight Thoughts (547,000 sold, Dec. 14, 2013-day chart).
ARRIANGThe first week sales number was largely supported by physical sales (516,000) boosted by its availability on 17 vinyl versions and nine CD editions, all of which contained the same tracklist. (They all have collectibles like photocards, stickers and posters.) Vinyl sales totaled 208,000 – BTS’ best vinyl sales week and the group’s biggest to date (since Luminate began tracking sales electronically in 1991). It’s also the sixth-biggest vinyl sales week for a contemporary album; Taylor Swift has the top five. The biggest vinyl record week in modern times was recorded in the opening week of Showgirlwith 1,334 million.
ARRIANGA release date of March 20 was announced on January 1, although the title was not revealed until January 16. The series was bundled with a worldwide Netflix exclusive. BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARRIANG on March 21. The band’s first single, “SWIM,” was released at the same time as the album, and the video for the song debuted on the same day. Later in the week of the release, BTS performed on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonon March 25 and 26.
Next month, BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ will kick off on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea, and arrive in the United States on April 25 in Tampa, Fla. The tour will continue through the US and Mexico until May 28, before heading overseas. The tour returns to the US in Aug. 1 and will wrap its US/Canada dates Sept. 6 Inglewood, Calif.
Luke Combs collects his seventh top 10 album on the Billboard 200, as The Way I Am reaches No. 2 with 101,000 equivalent albums. In total, SEA units have 76,000 (equivalent to 77.66 million in demand for the set’s songs; starting at No. 2 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales include 23,000 (starting at No. 2 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units include the rest.
The album was preceded by seven singles BillboardHot Country Songs chart, three of which reached the top 10: “Back in the Saddle,” “Sleepless in a Hotel” and “Be by You.” All three also reached the top 10 on the Country Airplay chart, with “Back in the Saddle” topping the list for two weeks in November.
The Way I Am adds Combs’ total to 10 on the Billboard 200, next Fathers and Sons (No. 6 peak in 2024), I’m getting old (No. 4, 2023), Growing up (No. 2, 2022), What you see is what you get (Number 1, 2019), The Prequel (No. 4, 2019) and This is Yours (Number 4, 2018).
ARRIANG and The Way I Am are the only top 10 debuts on the latest Billboard 200. Of the eight titles remaining in the top 10, only one is not No. 1 (Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving at No. 6).

Dean’s The Art of Loving rises 7-6 (54,000 equivalent albums, down 2%), Bad Bunny’s I NEED TO TAKE PHOTOS falls 5-7 (53,000, down 7%), Bruno Mars’ The Romantic he is not a mover at No. 8 (45,000, down 16%), Wallen’s One Thing at a Time rises 12-9 (38,000, up 7%) and KPop Demon Hunters the soundtrack is stable at No. 10 (36,000, down 4%).
