Regardless of its limited place among other features, the new movie has overcome its terrible reception to become a real hit. Shout out 7 reviews were overwhelmingly negative, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 31% over 2000. Shout out 3 (45%) as the worst in the franchise. However, it received a strong audience of 75% on the platform Popcornmeter, which shows that word of mouth can be related to the commercial performance of the sequel.

Even if it doesn’t go above $300 million, which seems unlikely given its current trajectory, Shout out 7 it has already proven itself to be a hit. The film cost an estimated $45 million to make, which likely puts its estimated holiday haul at $112.5 million. By reaching this milestone, the film has nearly doubled that total, which means it could be black and then some.

When possible Shout 8 has not been announced, it seems possible that the success of Shout out 7 means the franchise will be returning to theaters sooner rather than later. The sequel has the potential to have an even bigger impact if the producers make an effort to avoid the baggage that the new episode brought with it, which included last-minute personnel changes, those bad reviews, and calling guys after the franchise’s star Melissa Barrera was fired after sharing pro-Palestinian messages on social media.
