Super Mario Galaxy Movie marks a major breakthrough for Nintendo and Illumination’s animated Super Mario film franchise, as our heroes venture beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and into deep space. But what’s coming after this series might be even bigger, as the filmmakers are hinting at an expanded universe of Mario’s animated universe.

Does the Super Mario Galaxy Movie have a mid-credits sequence?
At the end of the Super Mario Galaxy Moviethe situation is now back to normal. Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad return to the Mushroom Kingdom. Queen Rosalina is freed from her captors, and reunited with her Luma family. Bowser and Bowser Jr. they find only their deserts.
The middle credits sequence shows Fox McCloud (Glen Powell) and Toad’s correctional officer discussing the incarceration of Bowser (now Dry Bowser) and his son Bowser Jr., who are serving time in the Mushroom Kingdom prison. Amidst the banter between Koopa father and son, Fox says goodbye and begins his journey.
Although Nintendo and Illumination have not yet announced plans for the upcoming movies Super Mario Galaxy MovieFox’s central appearance will no doubt spark speculation that the companies are creating a Star Fox spin-off of some sort. Star Fox is a favorite of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto; has produced and developed many Star Fox games over the past three decades, and a new Star Fox game is said to be in the works for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Otherwise, the mid-credits sequence offers a treat from the nihilistic Luma known as Lumalee, who was the standout character to come out. Super Mario Bros. Movie. Lumalee reappears here as a sad prison guard who was worried about death, just for laughs.
Does the Super Mario Galaxy Movie have a post-credits sequence?
Yes, and it’s big. A short post-credits sequence returns to the Gateway Galaxy, where Peach and Toad meet Fox McCloud (and the Pikmin) earlier in the film. In the post-credits scene, we see Ukiki once again stealing from a visitor to the Gateway Galaxy, but surrounded by Princess Daisy’s clothed hand. Although Daisy doesn’t say anything in her Super Mario movie (which is unusual for these types of comics), it’s clear that Nintendo and Illumination are creating yet another princess to join the cast of the third Super Mario movie.
Daisy started in 1989 Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. Daisy is the princess of Sarasaland, a kingdom that separates four kingdoms from the Mushroom Kingdom. To Super Mario LandDaisy is kidnapped by an evil alien named Tatanga, and Mario rescues her. Like Wart, who appears briefly in Super Mario Galaxy MovieTatanga has had a limited presence in other Super Mario games, beyond his first video game appearance.
The addition of Daisy will be a big deal for a group of Nintendo fans who have strong feelings about the princess, and are often calling for her to get more attention. It’s also a big deal for actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Princess Peach in the Super Mario movies, and now wants to see a movie about the princess group.
“I want badass girls who save the world,” Taylor-Joy told Polygon in an interview. “We’re all here, training together. I want all the girls together: three princesses who take care of business.”
