Trump shares a video of the presidential library of a skyscraper in Miami without books

President Donald Trump on Monday unveiled plans for his proposed presidential library in Miami, sharing a video showing an over-the-water skyscraper that closely resembles Trump’s existing real estate plans.

“For the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my amazing team at [The Trump Organization],” the president’s son Eric Trump wrote on X. “This landmark in the waters of Miami, Florida will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing producer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.”

The plans, credited to Florida-based firm Bermello Ajamil & Partners, show a sleek skyscraper with a red, white and blue spire and the word “Trump,” in large illuminated letters.

The plans of the library, reminiscent of New York’s World Trade Center, also appear to have a display of the presidential plane 747 given to Trump by Qatar, as well as references to the important moments of the rise of the president.

The images include a golden boat resembling the Trump Tower in New York City where the Republican launched his 2016 presidential campaign, and a golden statue of the president with his hand raised, in what appears to be an example of the president’s critical status after surviving an assassination attempt in 2024.

Projects also appear to include replicas of the Oval Office and a never-before-built presidential White House project.

Critics derided the plan for not appearing to have any books, while applauding the giant golden statues typical of dictatorial regimes.

“The gold statue in Trump’s new (his) library looks familiar to several people from around the world,” California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote on X, sharing examples of such statues in China and North Korea.

Independent He contacted the presidential library and Bermello Ajamil for comment.

The library, which is to be located downtown near Miami’s historic Freedom Tower, will reportedly rise to 47 stories, marking the election of President Trump as the 47th president.

Congress Democrats are investigating how the library project was financed, after media companies that settled cases with Trump during the 2024 election transferred at least $63 million to a library-related fund that was dissolved last year.

“It is now unclear where this money ended up, which exacerbates concerns about the corruption that was apparent during the settlement,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to companies that settled with Trump, including ABC, Meta, Paramount and X.

The Presidential Library’s non-profit corporations do not have to disclose their donors.

Trump shared a video of his library project on the same day that the state of Florida named Palm Beach International Airport after the Republican, the latest in a series of efforts to add Trump’s name to institutions including the Kennedy Center and the US Institute of Peace.
