It seems people all over the world are keeping up with Kris Jenner.
In particular, social media users in China are currently posting photos of the businesswoman as part of a ritual to pray for her success, luck and wealth.
According to Business Insider, the hashtag #krisjenner has garnered 52.9 million views on platforms like RedNote. Users even turned their photos into images of Jenner.
Chinese influencer Marcelo Wang took to TikTok on Friday to explain what’s behind the unexpected meme.
He told viewers that the “super random” trend has started “because Kris Jenner is one of the hardest working entrepreneurs in the US, and Chinese people really respect hard work.”
“Cosplaying Kris Jenner is like Gen Z’s fun way to show off success,” Wang added.
Jenner herself commented under her clip, “Y’all are amazing, sweetie!!!!” — referring to her catchphrase on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
In the following video, Wang explained how “this method has reached a new level.”
“Chinese Gen Z doesn’t use Kris Jenner as a profile picture, but it’s on our iPhone, iPad, laptop wallpapers…everywhere,” he said.
He added that students use the reality star image to “show up” to pass school exams and even get college degrees.
Popular AI images of Jenner used in the process include media eating ramen, drinking tea, riding a bike, wearing a letter cap and gown and taking selfies around China.
“He’s here to help China’s Gen Z manifest good fortune,” continued Wang.
China has indeed chosen the right celebrity, if only to successfully create a power of expression. Jenner’s net worth in 2025 is estimated from $170 million to $200 million, according to various reports.
Most of the mother’s wealth comes from managing her children – Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Rob Kardashian – as well as their multi-million dollar businesses.
According to Business Insider, Kris receives a 10 percent fee to manage their brands, which include SKIMS, Kylie Cosmetics, 818 Tequila, Poosh and Good American.
All of this, of course, was built after the 2007 premiere of Jenner’s first television commercial, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” which ran for 20 seasons until 2021.
Shortly after, “The Kardashians” – which continues to document their daily lives – premiered on Hulu in 2022.
“All my daughters are incredibly hard-working entrepreneurs, so they want to negotiate deals, money and percentages,” Jenner told Vogue Arabia in 2025. “And when it comes to girls, they know they have a mom who wants to make things happen like they do, they have their best interests at heart.”
